Contacting of European experts using spatial data

To identify and specify as clearly as possible the data needs and requirements of the various DG's at EU level, experts are brought together to express their specific data requirements within their respective domains. The ongoing experts consultation is providing the main input to establish consolidated user requirements for the future scope and design of LUCAS.

First high level expert workshop in Brussels (24/10/2006)

During the workshop user requirements and survey development suggestions have been gathered, which are analysed in-depth during the ongoing project until June 2007 and finalized in a proposal on how to adapt the LUCAS methodology to deliver needed information. ( download --> minutes )

Kick-off meeting in Luxemburg at Eurostat (19/09/2006)

As one of the decisions made the consortium is preparing a high level management workshop. This workshop is intended to bring together an expert group of selected members of the European Commission DG's as well as other international and national experts for:
  • Compiling a list of the major policy areas which should be specifically taken into account for the utility and prospective development of LUCAS, and
  • Gathering user tailored data requirements for the LUCAS / area frame methodology
  • Identifying needed adaptations and modifications of the current LUCAS survey set up to meet your data request
